How My Dream Turned Into My Book

Hello my Loves!

Yesterday my first poetry book Bitter-Sweet was officially published and today I want to share some pictures with you, to show you a little part of how the book came to be. I am so glad I took many pictures along the way.

You can click on each individual photograph to read a description about it and about the things I was going through while making Bitter-Sweet come to life.

The photographs only show the big milestones, although there was so much more going on behind the camera, for example setting up my own website, growing my social media following, setting up a new Instagram theme, learning how to explain every single one of my poems in case I would get asked to talk about them, connecting with other writers all over the world, learning how to read my poems out loud, getting over the fear of doing a poetry reading, taking author's pictures, writing Press Releases and a Press Kit, getting in touch with Book Bloggers and various Media channels.

Marketing and PR for the book is a whole chapter in itself - which turned into my full time job. I won't go into details about this in this post, but for all my readers who are thinking of self-publishing, I will definitely write about it in the future.

Apart from that, I also had to work on myself in the past months and especially weeks and I changed and grew a lot. I learned how to get through the complicated times without giving up, how to stay focused, how to not get stressed out, how to stay organised, how to believe in myself and dream big, get out of my comfort zone and out into the world.

It's been an amazing journey so far and guys, this is only the beginning!

I hope you enjoyed this little glance into my past year.

If you haven’t already, don’t forget to order your copy of “Bitter-Sweet”:
